this is a video about hanging out and having fun. I chose to go the route of them being on the side of the street instead of the club scene, since I was going that young 'do not have all of the money in the world but still having fun with your friends' or even running into someone that you might not be that close with but somehow begrudgingly hang out. this is not a video in which you look through and say where is this character doing what. some characters do stays consistently in the video and I almost character profile manner but most of them are for the mood and do not have a consistent role in a storyline throughout the video. originally I did this video because it was a shorter song and I came out of eye surgery. during the first few days only was able to edit for 15 minutes (like 3 weeks after the surgery) and then an hour by the second week editing, though I stretch to 2 or 3 hours.(not something I would advise though, I only was able to do this with intermittent keeping my eyes shut) it turns out editing this song to make it one minute (from 45-53 second) took a lot longer than I expected. (mostly because it was difficult to use any other song to extend it because of it actually has a very unique sound profile. (probably because he was cheaply made for a wrestling show and synthesises in this time were changing by the year) anyway with a mix of extending certain portions using other portions of the song and finding 1 or 2 songs that has portions just similar enough to mix in. (see in the credits) I got it to a minute.

even though this video started because I thought it would be a fast video to do, I actually took it seriously after the first week and a half because I realize I have something special here that I could really make. something that incorporates the raw nostalgia of going out and seeing your friends hanging on the side of the road to maybe even meeting a girl or going up to a boy. I put a little bit of the street racing aspect from the original show initial D in it but that's not the main point the main point is hanging out. The reason there are a police in here is even though I do have them hanging out in one scene the sound effects were part of the song. it adds a little action and I am proud of what I done with this video but that's why that is there.

this year I actually have subtitles. I honestly thought the sayings was going to make this song really difficult to translate but only two lines had any issue. (and eventually I figured out how to do it) with my credits I wanted to move away from what many people call my "PowerPoint credits" (even though when that quote was I didn't even own PowerPoint, though I have used it since then now having the program) so I tried to theme the credits around the concept of my video which is hanging out and nightlife. I used a bunch of sign off videos (actually is a lot of this came from ABC (Australia) along with one from Pittsburgh, but there is a lot from everywhere, even a sign off from Japan (that is the psychedelic colourful one)) I have all my sources listed under beginning sources but that is how I got the mood look for the both the intro and Outro credits. please don't judge the credits as part of the main video (since even though I took a deep care I did not edit them for it to be as smooth as a AMV would) but I think they turned out ok, at this point the subtitles were already made so to change anything in the beginning for that would literally invalidate the subtitles due to the way that they work is based on the timing structure and correcting them would take just as long as making them again in many ways. (other than translating the language obviously) I really hope you guys enjoy this video.

because of a lot of the comments I should mention that a lot of the sound effects were a part of this song. I think some people (multiple people but ICEberg was the one that was the clearest about having this confusion) thought I added those effects but no I made the video around those effects that were already in the song. The car and police noises, the helicopters, that was in the opening mix. I did edit the mix as I need to make it longer for it too be one minute since I think the song on the top of my head was around 54 seconds, give or take 3 seconds but most of that mix was already there, what I changed I explained above already but I do understand the song itself could use some work in terms of layering different sound effect particularly the broken glass sound effect but I didn't make it. (product of the early 90s, it was actually an opening from a wrestling show which is why it probably has a limited budget in terms of music.) I made my video around it trying to use the sound effects already there to enhance my video rather than distract and I hope it is still enjoyable.
