| [29.12.2013] AimoAio » True [MentalTsui] | Despite you saying it's "nothing special", I really really enjoyed this AMV, well except that one random line of text which just stuck out to me because you didn't use text anywhere else and the scene itself with the lyrics captured the moment perfectly already without it. The rest however was just fabulous. Maybe it's a subjective thing but I love the use of colour contrast to indicate various emotions, or maybe states is a better word? At times it feels dark, dramatic and heavy and at other times there's a dreamlike, hypnotic heartwarming feel. I love it when AMVs are able to portray such feelings so well that I actually FEEL something when watching. I even felt a pang of bittersweet sadness at the end and I haven't seen an AMV do that to me for a long while.
Also the song is awesome. Great job! I really loved this entry! :D Please keep making more awesome stuff like this! |

| [29.12.2013] AnimeFanaticBoy » Pandora [Centurione] | You can call it story or plot, but the video made sense for me. It's a bit different from your usual style Ewa, but damn, now the category will turn interesting from this point until the end. Good |

If someone wants to see a story, one would watch a movie. There is no need of a chronological order of events to establish the viewer's grasp of the subject in a music video, just like it is the case with paintings/pictures. I didn't read the description before watching and I had a pretty good idea of what the video is about after. |

| [29.12.2013] EnIgMoZz2 » Pandora [Centurione] | Shit..... Inazuchi I think you got your point across when the pros lasted for two sentences but the cons were written in a mini essay.... Enigmo and his genius-like perception, ha-ha. Seriously though, what grade did you get in English Literature, back in School? I love the way you made your point, extracted a quote, and analysed it. Seriously though, I too thought the video didn't convey any message properly, but that is the cast with most AMVs I see, but everyone else was posting a positive comment, and even EvilSpider said "Excellent", so I didn't want to be the party pooper, and instead just posted my latest activity.
Added (after 4 min. and 1 sec.):
I start every sentence with "seriously though" which must mean nothing I say is serious |

| [29.12.2013] Inazuchi » Pandora [Centurione] | Well this is certainly different, although I would like to give you some criticism; however, let's start with the pros of the video: Very nice use of colors to establish an atmosphere, enjoyed your masks and crossovers, utilization of relatively nice effects, and timing. It was just very pleasing to look at in general, and I say that even if this is not my preferred genre. ----- The cons (or at least I'd like to address the major issue): Looking at your video, as it stands on its own, it's actually quite difficult to determine what the point of it is. Indeed, you establish some sort of atmosphere, however your intended message (yes yours, the editors, not by the viewers interpretation) is only revealed by the description you provide: That the video is meant to capitalize on "the motive of femme fatale" and, in turn, the message of the video was to establish that in certain cases a woman can be beautiful, but dangerous. My issue here is that, as I've stated, looking at the video alone you would not exactly be able to receive your intended message--and the reason for that is because you merely use an atmosphere to depict things in this video. Your video lacks a cohesive plot--you merely run through a number of scenes to show your "point" and atmosphere, and you do not actually use a story to make a greater comment about the "femme fatale". You have only achieved the first basic level of analysis. One can easily simply state "Ice cream tastes good", or in your case "Women can be beautiful, but dangerous", but where are the controls that show that? So what? The fact that you lack a story means that your point doesn't actually go anywhere greater--it doesn't achieve a grander scheme about women or human behavior. For example (not from your video), instead of simply stating "fate controls all people", in order for that point to be acknowledged as legitimate you would need some support; "It is evident that fate controls the lives of all people, based on their , , _ (insert reasons here), AND that their fate is only brought closer by ". Your video certainly lacks those reasons, and it never takes it to that next "AND" level to state something even bigger, because merely showing that "women can be beautiful but dangerous" is just way to simplistic and ineffective to stand on its own. A story of sorts to prove your point, and actually show scenarios by which there's a progression and conclusion of a woman's motives, would have made your video stand alone and people would have fully comprehended your intended message without having to read the description you gave. You are an exceptional editor, and you definitely deserve to win your category that's no doubt. But I feel as though, if logic is actually dug into, you have lots of room for improvement to make your video pop out a lot more. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck, and I'm looking forward to more work from you! My rating: 8.5/10. |
