~In High Places~

Low.

That's where I am
not wanting to see what's above;
but the sky pulled me forth with
convincing intensity.

It is brighter, overcrowded
yet warm.

Everything must be nicer up top;
I should go there.

Through her eyes
I can see what it's like.
and hear the
crunch
of her footsteps.
But are they any different from
my own, down here?

No. I guess not,
--though you may have to
listen over the patter of
falling rain.

Because in high places,
droplets form, and come crashing
below. Inconsiderate. Arrogant.

I keep moving along, and
in the lull of things
catch a glimpse of Heaven.
Always above me.

That's where I am
Should I be here?
Should They be here?

So out of reach
So high

What can I do?

Let it dissolve.
Break the boundaries

The Butterfly flies
higher than it's shadow.

Blood runs high
above the pavement
[How high is that?]

To the Moon,
most things are quite low.
So Stop. Go. Repeat.

Everywhere is low.
Everywhere can be high.

Maybe it's just the sky
flooding into my room,
but today, my bed feels
