AKROSS CON 2014
"Open Doors" tells the story about the love and dedication two people have with one another despite the trials and tribulations they may experience.

In the beginning a young boy (Mushishi) is being treated for a sudden illness by a grumpy, old doctor (Tsutomu Mukae - Kids on the Slope/ Maiden Rose) who is known for being a grouch throughout the village. When the boy discovers he is ill, sorrow sweeps over his household. However, his happiness is returned to him when his "Senpai" (先輩) and guardian (Katou Youji - Haru wo Daite Ita / Kusaka Touma - Fuyu no Semi) drops by for a visit.

In the present, the boy is all grown up (Iwaki Kyosuke - Haru wo Daite Ita/ Akazuki Keiichirou) and flips through an old picture book with his Senpai when the two of them visited his mother's shrine. All was well then, but soon our protagonist is diagnosed with an illness (cancer) and has to undergo a countless amount of treatments in order to prolong his life.

However dreadful, the Senpai (先輩) never dares to abandon his kōhai (後輩). Throughout the story the viewer will notice the change of heart each of the characters have, leading to the end credits when it is up to him or her to decide whether our protagonist survives this illness or not.

Also, another intention of mine was to stray away from the plot of Winter Cicada and Yaoi all together.

Now that I've re-watched it, I understand just how poor the quality is. Next time, I will try much harder.

Your comment actually made me laugh. I for one am not a fan of where I live because it's all hustle and bustle and the people here are rude, obnoxious and stick their noses into other people's business.

Added (after 14 min. and 1 sec.):

Just so everyone knows, the reason the quality is so "poor" is because I made the mistake to render the video the way I had. My intentions were merely to edit with objectionable anime such as Haru wo Daiteita and Kids on the Slope to give Akross more attention from fans of those shows.

The song I chose is overly used and common among AMV editors found on Youtube, and the only reason I edited with it is because it delved into the plot of Winter Cicada and Kids on the Slope. Again, the music quality is poor because of my own mistakes.

I appreciate the comments, concerns and critiques, but I advise you to take a look at my other videos to see that many of the mistakes found here are due to the quality of the clips and my 'novice' rendering skills.

I thank you for your kind words of advice. I worked hard on this video, due to my lack of clips, and appreciate how you and some of the others noticed that.

I regret the rendering process of the project as it was my biggest downfall. Actually, I thought people wouldn't be as critical as they are about the project, but, like all competitions, everyone is a critic. However they are entitled to their own opinions so it's interesting to read each of their comments.

Thanks again for your kindness.

By the way, does anyone else have a Youtube Channel? I would love to take a look at all of your videos and subscribe to each of you.

I felt your strong will to express something. It's most important. But as others said, viewers cannot understand the story without your text. They should be able to get the storyline only by your video. You must open the door of your own world. However I know your hard work. Good luck!

For a crossover, it was so-so.

You will have to improve the masking technique, I could easily notice the out borders. You have the idea, it seems you also know what you're doing but the tecnical aspect makes it loses some points. Remember that one day you'll not be able to explain everyone your story: The video must talk for itself, not you.

I can see the intention but yeah, lot of work to do. Good luck buddy
