Not enough scenes in culmination - the boy's turning point. Better to say, not enough impact.
I liked how the story was clearly told. The narration was very smooth. Even if I had not watched the movie, I would have understood. Storytelling is a rare but always overlooked skill nowadays.
The chronology:
Introduction - The boy insults a girl, boy got insulted instead; life goes on, years pass. The boy cannot see the faces of people.
Turning point - Meets friends, starts to see their faces, the boy is now happy.
Final - The boy now sees face of all people.
About turning point, starting from 2:45, there are lot of near miss syncs that a bit ruins the mood. 2:45 - you near miss the beat. You should completely avoid the sync in that part or sync it properly. 2:52 - also a near miss. 2:55 - perfect (my favorite scene). Also small cross-fades between dark and light scenes do not look okay.
The cuts are not long/short, they are in the lengths that they should be. I wanted more variety on the turning point scenes - something more internal/psychological than showing different parts of amusement parks with his friends.
Frankly, it's boring. Judging by the way the clip develops, you expect it to be a work with increasing dynamics, but unfortunately there are no significant changes throughout the work and there is no climax in the finale, so it all looks very long and boring, like one big gray mass. The idea itself is good, it was just necessary to pick up some other, less protracted track. Thank you for your work!
Overall, nice AMV
I think he meant lack of scene variety due to using only 1 source. Maybe he's right, because AMV may be felt a bit too long and/or a bit boring because of this. But I think usually it's better to use only one source, especially if you'd like to tell a story.
Due to its nature the video reminds to crossover videos. That's my impression too
