I also like that we now are able to have non-finalist judge which was not the case when I first competed in the contest. there is also little restrictions for a requirement of amv subjects which is a really great thing.
actually if you notice most of the complaint is based on deadlines rather than anything management wise because this contest is managed so well. |

| Bean d'Тінь | even though my personal preference would obviously be to move it back to January since it interferes with a lot of stuff on my schedule, not based on my personal schedule this contest will probably be twice as good if the deadline was around the 14th or the 18th of December for submitting videos. this year it was too short of a presentation time leading to the contest ending submissions just when the trickle starts to become good. it always seems that it takes a little bit for it the good video to start being submitted after announcing a deadline and I don't think the contest time was long enough for that to happen.
putting the alternate version on videos that apparently do not fit the requirement rather than just a preview and the preloaded standard. this is the third year in a row this happened. (yes I messed up my upload for my standard version three times in a row, keep in mind we are probably talking about fractions of megabytes here) I understand that I am stuck with the resizing and it redone screenshot but why would my alternate version not be posted because I messed up on the standard version. also a reminder of the proper extension for each option (The proper extension for 'preview' and 'alternate') instead of just for standard would be helpful to make sure you do not mess up those, definitely for newcomers.
The fact that we can't choose videos for any genre we like in the list of the finalist. they were so many videos that I thought for a different genre better, like why is 'Guy Ritchie' in fun where that is definitely drama or 'Hang In Long Enough' should be in romance since it centered around a relationship specifically. we understand the parameters,let us decide which fits into what category. I am fine with technical and presentation style categories being limited in advance but for the genre I think there should be a more involved role for genre selection. |

| TritioAFB | In the same line from my last point is that it will depend of the experience of the author. And if he/she is unexperienced that might cause problems when adding the videos in the correct genre. Example: A Comedy video into a Drama.
Another thing is the fact that we didnt have all the Categories, Example: Comedy or Horror even though we had enough videos for them |

Ввести номинацию "Оригинальная песня" - автор делает AMV на собственную музыку |

| Bean d'Тінь | announcing the deadline ideally by July but at the very least the beginning of September. this way you can make family plans in advanced or any other commitment. (definitely since he bounced it from January to December now) this year I was more prepared then last year but that's because this is the second year of the change but having the exact days that you will be busy voting well in advance helps given the small voting window.
this year was worse than usual since usually he posts the first deadline very early October or very late September instead of mid to late October like this year. this give us a respectable amount of time I would understand October if the deadline was still in January (since that gave a decent amount of time before the deadline) but now that it is in December he really needs to keep date release to at least late September for anyone that is scheduling things outside of this contest and wants to make sure there is time to post their video along with voting during the 2-4 day period. I can try and I do try to use the usual dates as good estimates but since that can change by a few days each year it would be best to get the actual dates earlier.
I know this is never going to happen given evilspider stands in his essay back in the 2000s but maybe extending it to all animated forms rather than just anime based will increase the contest visibility.
I would increase the time for judging to be 4 days. the biggest problem is do you want us to write this essay about what we like and don't like along with grading every single video in the contest in 3 days. at the very least I think the likes and dislikes about the contest could be put with 'voters choice award' in the schedule. The only reason this review is even looked this good this year is that I began writing it October 30. (I wrote the paragraph about the contest date announcements then since that was the problem number one already) so we are up to the point that the only way to meet your deadline is to write about what's wrong about the contest before the contest wraps up which should not be the case. I am only able to do that because I have been doing this contest for 9 years but most cannot. (if you see the mess of some of my previous years I think it's obvious.) another reason is you get fatigue judging though just with the categories. I would love to have the time to have one day for each section or at most 2 sections, so people can make a worthy judgement of each video for each section without fatigue. given more time will help make sure you chose what you think its best to each category. |

I barely mention it in social Media but I plan to support the contest next year if I dont make it to have at least 1 video for 2026
